Madreterra Organic Cerasuolo
The oil extracted from olives grown in the Sciacca area at altitudes ranging from 50 to 600 meters above sea level, with ideal pedoclimatic conditions, make its vocation natural. The olives are harvested by hand and cold-processed within 24 hours. Our cutting-edge milling methods allow us to obtain a slightly hazy oil with a golden yellow color and intense green nuances, with hints of artichoke, officinal herbs, tomato and almond.
Where to Find Madre Terra Cooperative was founded in 1944 by Accursio Miraglia, who was killed by the mafia three years later. Thanks to the farmers, the large estates were transformed into fertile and productive olive groves. Today, the cooperative boasts around 300 members and an area of 1,200 hectares planted with olive trees in the Sciacca region, an area delimited by the Val di Mazara PDO, where the native varieties, Cerasuola, Biancolilla and Nocellara, have grown for centuries.
