Grubić Buža
Buža is a superb oil with a defined and rounded aroma, rich with elegant verdant notes, ranging from chicory and conifer to mint and basil, combined with the fresh aroma of spring grass. Its taste is sophisticated and complex, with characteristic hints of green tomatoes, white apples, almonds and black pepper. Stronger pungency and moderate bitterness come together in a distinct and harmonious relationship, making this a universal oil that effortlessly combines with everything.
Where to Find Grubić is a family-owned olive estate in Istria run by Emanuel and his wife, Suzana. The mill was established in 1927 and continues to produce EVOO from Istrian indigenous varieties: Buža and Rošinjola. Grubić olive groves cover an area of 8 hectares and are located in western Istria, near the picturesque town of Bale. The mill has been transformed into a unique museum, which is separated from the modern mill by just a glass door and used today as a tasting room.
